SPORTS
Section 1. Baseball
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - Same as NJCAA.
b. Scheduling limitations
Same
as NJCAA (76 games/Scrimmages with a maximum of 56 games/scrimmages in the Spring) (
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (
d. Team participation limits..home and away - Thirty-five (35) players may participate
in games at home or away.
e. Roster limitations - Thirty-five
(35) players may be certified for spring eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination - The
conference shall be divided into an Eastern Division and a Western Division. (
(1) Each division shall play a double
round-robin of doubleheader seven (7) inning games to be scheduled between
March 1 and the last Monday prior to the First Round of the Region VI
Championship.
(2)
The
conference championship and standings (which will also be the seeding for the
First Round of Region VI Playoffs) will be determined by the winning percentage
of all conference games designated by the approved conference schedule.
(3)
Any
conference game that is not played before the last Monday prior to the first
Round of the Region VI Playoffs will count as a loss for both teams in
determining the final conference winning percentage.
(4) If a game is postponed the athletic
directors of the colleges involved shall establish a new date within
forty-eight hours. The athletic director
of the host college shall report the newly established date to the
commissioner. If an agreement on a new date cannot be reached by the athletic
directors, the matter shall be turned over to the commissioner. The commissioner will determine a date for
the game to be played and a rain date.
If a team fails to appear for the game, that team shall forfeit the
game.
(5)
Home
games will alternate with the best percentage record determining the
championship.
(6)
All
conference games will have a run rule of a 10 run differential after the 5th
inning.
(7)
Other
stipulations for conference games will be no automatic walks (must be pitched)
and Catchers run (no courtesy runners).
h. Assignment of officials - Each
umpire shall be selected by the home team.
i. All-Conference selections -
Each division shall select all-league baseball team. The baseball team will be by position with
three (3) pitchers, three (3) outfielders and a designated hitter listed.
Coaches can nominate as many of their own players as they wish, but a coach
cannot vote for his own players. A first
and honorable mention team will be selected.
Failure of a coach to submit a ballot will result in his players being
disqualified for consideration for the All-Conference team.
j. Governing rules - All games
shall be played according to NJCAA/NCAA rules with the following
exception: Officials do not have to be
NCAA certified. (
k. Tie-breaking formula - See
Article VIII, Section 8 of these By-Laws.
l. Financial considerations -
Nothing yet adopted.
m. Conference Game Ball - The
Rawlings R1NJCAA ball will be used for all KJCCC conference games. (
Section 2. Basketball
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - Same as NJCAA.
b.
Scheduling limitations - Same as NJCAA
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Only six (6) players on the roster may have graduated from
non-Kansas high schools or be out-of-state/foreign players who have completed
the G.E.D. test. (
Once an out-of-state
player is on the eligibility roster he/she can not be replaced with
another out-of-state player.
Foreign player limitation - Same as the NJCAA.
d. Team participation limits..home and away - In basketball, the squad eligibility
list must also be postmarked prior to the first scheduled contest and is
limited to a maximum playing roster of fifteen (15), of which not more that six
(6) may be from out-of-state. (
e. Roster limitations - Only
fifteen (15) players may
be certified for eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination - The
conference colleges shall be divided into a Eastern
Division and a Western Division. A
double round-robin division shall be determined on the regular percentage
basis.
h. Assignment of officials - The
officials for all games shall be assigned by the commissioner. Three officials
shall be assigned to work all men's/women’s games as assigned by the
commissioner. (
i. All-Conference selections - The
conference shall select All-Conference women and men basketball squads by
having the coaches make nominations to the commissioner then voting for other
than their players for 1st and 2nd teams and honorable mention honors. All coaches must vote. Failure of a coach to submit a ballot will
result in his/her players being disqualified for consideration on the
All-Conference teams.
j. Governing rules - NJCAA/NCAA rules
apply for men's games and NJCAA/NCAA approved rules apply for the women's
games.
k. Tie-breaking formula - See Article
VIII, Section 8 of these By-Laws.
l. Conference Shoot-out- The
conference will hold a Jayhawk Shootout for men and women to be conducted at
designated site/sites during pre-conference.
The format will be the Eastern Conference colleges vs. Western
Conference colleges. The shootout will
include all conference colleges. The host site(s) of the shootout may
video-tape or film all games during the event without the written consent of the
participants. (

Press Conference - The KJCCC basketball coaches and the Conference commissioner will meet
to discuss rule changes and to hold a press conference each year. Every conference head and/or assistant coach
will attend. The site and time will be determined by the commissioner.(
n.
The Conference Game Ball – The Rawlings RX10W for Women and RX10 for Men will be used
for all KJCCC games.
Section 3. Cross
Country
a. Date for starting practice.
Member schools of the Jayhawk Conference
will begin fall practices for cross country no earlier than August 10. (
b. Scheduling limitations - Each
college team may participate in nine (9) meets, exclusive of post-season
regional and/or national competition.
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (see page 26, parag c).
d. Team participation limits home and
away - A maximum of fifteen (15) athletes may participate in meets away
from home. A maximum of fifteen (15)
athletes may participate in meets at home.(
e. Roster limitations - Fifteen
(15) students may be certified for eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination (
(1) The conference colleges shall be divided
into an Eastern Division and a Western Division.
(2)
Using
the NCAA Cross Country scoring system, a panel of two coaches representing
their respective conference division will score only their respective
divisional colleges competing at the NJCAA Region VI Championship cross country
meet to determine the Eastern and Western Division Champion(s).
h. Assignment of officials -
Officials for the Conference Championship will be existing officials used for
the Region VI Championship with the exception of the scoring committee. The scoring committee will exist of three (3)
Conference cross country coaches. These coaches will eliminate non-conference
participants and follow NCAA Cross Country scoring regulations. The scoring committee will then present the Jayhawk
Conference Trophy and All-Conference selection medals to the respective men's
and women's teams.
i. All-Conference selections - The
first seven (7) places in their respective division will be selected to the
first team All-Conference team. (
j. Governing rules - NJCAA/NCAA
rules shall be followed.
k. Tie-breaking formula - All ties
in team scores will be awarded as co-champions.
Section 4. Football
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length.
(1)
Member colleges of the Jayhawk Conference
will begin fall
practices for football no earlier than August
7 in accordance with NCAA By-Laws pertaining to football practice procedures
and regulations. (
(2) The KJCCC football schedule shall begin
according to the NJCAA starting date. The schedule will be established at the
March meeting by the scheduling committee for the year after the upcoming fall
season (year after next). This will
establish the schedule for the succeeding two (2) seasons no later than
eighteen (18) months before the schedule for the season in question is
determined. Following the conclusion of
the eight game schedule, three (3) weekends of
play-offs will commence. No games other
than play-off games may be played during this time. The schedule established by the committee
will allow for a rotation of the order in which conference opponents play each
other from year to year, but will keep the dates established for non-conference
play the same each year. (
(3) Under no conditions may equipment be
checked out to individuals, worn or taken from the locker room prior to the
opening day of practice.
(4) Organized spring football practice will
be a total of twenty (20)
days, including two (3)days of shorts,
t-shirts, and helmets; seven (7) days of helmets and shoulder pads; ten (10)
days of contact that would include intra-squad
scrimmages. Other spring activity shall be restricted to academic class. No protective equipment may be used. (
(5) Teams from colleges violating the above
regulations will be suspended from championship play during that season.
(6) Each team will be responsible for
compiling their own statistics. (
b. Scheduling limitations - One (1)
scrimmage game, eight (8) regular season games exclusive of play-off games and
one bowl game may be scheduled.
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Only twelve (12) players on the roster may have graduated
from non-Kansas high schools or be considered out-of-state athletes or foreigners
who have completed the G.E.D. test.(3-8-99)
d. Team participation limits home and
away - Fifty-five (55) players may suit up for home and away games.
e. Roster limitations - A maximum
of fifty-five (55) players may be certified for eligibility purposes and a
roster of only those 55 certified players shall be submitted to the Conference
Office before the first game. Any number changes by players on the roster must
be submitted to the Conference Office before the player participates in a game
with the new number. If a player has a season ending injury prior to October 1
(documented by a physician) he may be replaced by adding an in-state player to
the roster. No out-of-state players may be added to replace injured players. A
player could only be added to a roster if that player agreed to give up his red
shirt year. A signed letter by the player must be sent to the Commissioner’s
Office with the roster change.

f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination - The
football conference champion shall be the winner of the post-season play-offs.
h. Assignment of officials - The
Commissioner and/or Supervisor of Officials shall assign all officials. Once
assigned, these officials will not be removed during the current season. Each
official’s pay will be $150.00 per football game. (
I. All-Conference selections - The
conference shall select All-Conference football squads by having the coaches
make nominations to the commissioner, then voting for other than their own players
for 1st and 2nd teams and for honorable mention honors. All coaches must vote. Failure of a coach to submit a ballot will
result in his players being disqualified for consideration for the
All-Conference squads.
j. Governing rules - NJCAA/NCAA rules
shall be followed.
k. Tie-breaking formula - In case
of ties for any in any division, won-loss records against each other are
compared (the teams that are tied). If
the tie remains, compare the record of the tied teams against the first place
team, the second place team, etc., until the tie is broken. However, if the tie still remains the point
differential (margin of victory or loss) between the tied teams will be used to
break the tie. Example: Team A-28 and Team B-14, then Team A has a +14 and Team
B has a –14.
l. Financial consideration - The
two competing colleges may agree upon the amount of a game guarantee.
m. Post-season play-off (
(1) There shall be a
eight-team play-off, using the tie breaking formula found in this section, to
determine the eight teams.
(2) The first-place team shall host the
eighth place team, the second-place team will host the seventh-place team, the
third-place team will host the sixth-place team and the fourth-place team will
host the fifth-place team. These games will be played on the first Sunday
following the completion of the regular season.
(3) The second round shall have the winners
shall play at the site of the highest place team. These games will be played one week after the
first round games.
(4) The second round winners shall play one
week later at the site of the team with the highest place.
(5) The
financial arrangements that currently exist, will be
used in this play-off format.
(6) All ties in the play-off games shall be
broken through the use of the NCAA rules.
n. Film exchange - A schedule for
film exchange will be set by the league commissioner. All football playing conference schools will
comply with the designated mailing dates and destinations.
o.
Assistant coaches - Member schools of the KJCCC shall have no limit on the number of
assistant football coaches, under employment of the college. However, only four (4) assistant coaches will
be eligible to recruit off-campus. This
list must be in the commissioner's office at the same time eligibility rosters
are filed. The commissioner then will
notify the football-playing institutions of the coaches that will be eligible
to recruit off-campus.
p. Conference
Game Ball – The Rawlings ST5 football will used in all KJCCC football games.
Section 5. Golf/Male
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - Same as the NJCAA.
b. Scheduling limitation -
Twenty-two (22) days may be used to schedule competition. This excludes post-season play.
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (see page 26, para. c.)
d. Team participation limits. home and away - The maximum
travel squad shall be five (5) players for each Jayhawk designated tournament.
Those five (5) players may change from one Jayhawk designated tournament to
another. Those five (5) players making that team’s travel squad shall be the
only players from that team to participate in that Jayhawk designated
tournament. The maximum travel squad
shall be ten (12) players for all other tournaments. (8-04)
e. Roster limitations -Twelve (12)
players may be certified for eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination -The
conference championship standings for
teams and individuals shall be determined by the
accumulation of points
accrued by participating in designated tournaments. There
shall be six (6)
designated tournaments.
1) Three (3) of the tournaments shall be in
the fall and 3 tournaments shall by played in the spring. Because golf is a
sport, which spans fall and spring semester, the NJCAA eligibility rules are in
effect.(
2) The sites and dates of the designated
tournaments will be determined by agreement of the coaches and will rotate
among member colleges requesting to host a tournament.
Ties involving teams
after the completion of the designated tournaments will be broken by a sudden
death play-off using the five (5) players whose scores are used to determine
the team score in the last tournament. Change

(3) Each tournament will award points to
teams and individuals according to the following tables. The final standings in each category will be
determined by the numerical order of the totals accumulated.
(4) A secretary for the conference golf
coaches will be selected each year from and by the golf coaches. The duties of the golf secretary include
tabulating the standings for teams and individuals after each designated
tournament, distributing that information, and obtaining and distributing
conference awards following the last tournament.

(1) Designated tournaments will consist of
thirty-six (36) holes of strike play.
Fewer than 36 holes may constitute a designated tournament, but only
when rounds completed by all players (9-18, 27, or 36) or used.
(2) The pairings for the first day will be
rotated, so that all schools will have been paired with each other at least
once during the fall and spring. The second day pairings will be based upon
team scores after the first day using the wave system for both days. Consideration will be given to those schools
that have the farthest to travel on the first day as to tee times.(
The host school is responsible for
setting starting time, and the amount of the entry fees.
The pairings format only pertains to
designated tournaments and does not apply to invitational tournaments hosted by
a conference member.
(3) Information concerning all of the above
shall be forwarded to participating institutions by the host institution at the
earliest possible date.
(4) Team scores will be based on the best four
(4) individual scores. Teams consist of four (4) or five (5) players.
(5) Ties involving teams after the completion
of six (6) designated tournaments will be broken by a sudden death play-off
using the four players whose scores are used to determine the team score for the last tournament.
(6) Ties involving individuals in the first
five places will be broken by a sudden death play-off.
(7) Coaches are allowed on the course during
tournament play. Exchange of information
may only be between coach and individual player from the same school. There shall be no exchange of information
between a coach and a group of players from the same school or between a coach
and a player/players from a different school. Penalty is disqualification of team from the
tournament.

Section 7. Softball
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - Same as NJCAA.
b. Scheduling limitations
(1)
In
the fall, ten (10) dates, including tournaments, may be scheduled. Thirty (30)
dates, including tournaments, may be scheduled in the spring semester. Same as
NJCAA. (8-04)
(2) The maximum number of scrimmage games,
not dates, shall be four. These may be used in any combination for the combined
spring and fall season. No scrimmage
games with another institution may be played after the first contest has been
played with another intercollegiate institution.
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (see page 26, para. c).
d. Team participation limits...home and
away - Twenty-four (24) players may participate in game at home or away.
e. Roster limitations - A maximum
of thirty-five (35) players may be certified for spring eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination - The
conference shall be divided into an Eastern Division and a Western Division.
(1) Each division shall play a single
round-robin of double-header games.
Division II colleges will play in designated Cross-Over tournaments.
(2) Conference standing will be determined
by winners of games designated by a conference approved schedule. All
conference games will count to determine conference championship.
(3) If a game is postponed the athletic
directors of the colleges involved shall establish a new date within
forty-eight (48) hours. The athletic
director of the host college shall report the newly established date to the
commissioner. Any Conference game that is not played by Wednesday before the
Region VI Tournament will count as a loss for both teams in determining the
final conference winning percentage. (8-04)
If an agreement on a new
date cannot be reached by the athletic directors, the matter shall be turned
over to the commissioner. The
commissioner will determine a date for the game to be played and a rain
date. If a team fails to appear for the
game, the team shall forfeit the game.
(4) Home games will alternate with the best

h. Assignment of officials - Officials
shall be selected and paid by the home team.
i. All-Conference selections -
Each division shall select an All-Conference softball team. There shall be a first team of twelve (12)
players (8 position players, 2 pitchers, 1 designated hitter and 1 utility
player). The utility player will be the
player receiving the next highest number of votes, regardless of position,
after the other eleven (11) positions have been filled. A like procedure will be used to select a
second team of twelve (12) players. The
next ten (10) highest vote-getters will be named Honorable Mention
All-Conference. Coaches can nominate as
many of their own players as they wish, but a coach cannot vote for his/her own
players. Failure of a coach to submit a
ballot will result in his/her players being disqualified for All-Conference
consideration. (
j. Governing rules - All games
shall be played according to NJCAA/NCAA rules with the following

Conference Ball –
Section 8. Tennis
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - Same as NJCAA.
b. Scheduling limitations - in the
fall, ten (10) dates may be used to play all matches, tournaments and
scrimmages. In the spring semester, fifteen (15) dates excluding spring trips
may be used to play all matches, tournaments, and scrimmages except for
post-season regional and national competition.
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (see page 26, para. c).
d. Team participation limits..home and away - Same as NJCAA.
e. Roster limitations - Up to
twelve (12) players may be certified for eligibility purposes for both men’s
and women’s team, with only eight (8) of those receiving scholarships. (
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination
(1) The team championship shall be
determined by the total number of matches won with one (1) point being awarded for
each match won.
(2) The conference tennis tournament shall
consist of six (6) single divisions.
(a)
Division
I shall be composed of the number one (1) player from each team.
(b) Division
II shall be composed of the number two (2) player from each team.
(c) Division III shall be composed of the
number three (3) player from each team.
(d) Division IV shall be composed of the
number four (4) player from each team.
(e) Division
V shall be composed of the number five (5) player from each team.
(f) Division
VI shall be composed of the number six (6) player from each team.
(3) The conference tennis tournament shall
consist of three (3) doubles divisions.
(a) Division
I shall be each squads number one (1) doubles team.
(b) Division
II shall be each squads number two (2) doubles team.
(c) Division
III shall be each squads number three (3) doubles team.
(4) A player shall be allowed to represent
his/her college in both singles and doubles play.
h. Assignment of officials - Will
be selected by the tournament administrators.
i. All-Conference selections -

j. Governing rules - NJCAA/NCAA
and KJCCC rules shall govern all contests.
k. Tie-breaking formula
- The following formula will be used to determine the second-place team for
qualifying purposes:
(1) Number of flights won by teams involved
in tie.
(2) Number of matches won between or among
teams that are tied.
(3) Percent of games won between or among
teams that are tied.
(4) Coin flip.
l. Financial considerations - The
conference treasurer shall provide payment to the college responsible for
conducting the tennis meet. This payment
shall cover all necessary expenses.
Section 9. Track
- Indoor and Outdoor
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length - same as NJCAA.
b. Scheduling limitations: Same as
NJCAA (
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA (see page 26, para. c).
d. Team participation limits..home and away
(1) Thirty-five (35) men and thirty-five
(35) women may be certified to participate in indoor track.
(2) Thirty-five (35) men and thirty-five
(35) women may be certified to participate in outdoor track.
(3) A team of thirty-five (35) members may participate
in indoor track meets at home or away.(
(4) Each KJCCC college may enter a maximum
of three (3) individuals in each event, except relays. Each college may enter only one (1) relay
team in each of the relay races.
(5) The number participating from each
member college shall not exceed the allowable travel squad.
(6) Each contestant may participate in a
maximum of five (5) events.
e. Roster limitations - Thirty-five
(35) men and thirty-five (35) women may be certified to participate in indoor track. Thirty-five (35) men and thirty-five (35)
women may be certified to participate in outdoor track.
d.
Number of athletic grants-in-aid - Same as NJCAA
e.
Championship determination - The East and West team finishing the conference indoor
meet (held in conjunction with the NJCAA Region VI Indoor Championships) with
the greatest number of points shall be determined to be the conference champion
for indoor track. The East and West team
finishing the conference outdoor meet (held in conjunction with the NJCAA Region
VI Outdoor Championships) with the greatest number of points shall be
determined to be the conference champion for outdoor track. Points for both divisions for the indoor and
outdoor championships will be awarded in compliance with the NCAA rule book and
the non-divisional individuals will be eliminated to determine the respective
division individual finish and assign points for their respective divisional

Section 10. Volleyball
a. Dates for starting practice and season
length.
Member schools of the
Jayhawk Conference will begin fall practices for volleyball no earlier than
August 10. (
b. Scheduling limitations -
Thirty-one (31) with a maximum of twenty-eight (28) in the fall season and four
(4) dates for the spring season, exclusive of post season regional and national
competition, may be used for matches or tournaments. Two additional scrimmage dates
may be used prior to the start of the season. (
c. Out-of-state and foreign player
limitations - Same as NJCAA.
d. Team participation limits home and
away - Fifteen (15) players may travel and participate in matches at home
or away.
e. Roster limitations - Fifteen
(15) players may be certified for eligibility purposes.
f. Number of athletic grants-in-aid
- Same as NJCAA.
g. Championship determination
(1) The conference colleges shall be divided
into an Eastern Division and a Western Division.
(2) A single round-robin of matches shall be
played in each division.
(3) The winner of each division shall be
determined on a regular percentage basis.
(4) Matches shall consist of five (5) games
in determining won-loss records. (
h. Assignment of officials -
Minimum officials pay will be $15/match plus forty cents ($.40) mileage one
way.
i. All-Conference selections -
Each division shall select all-division volleyball team. Coaches can nominate
as many of their own players as they wish, but a coach cannot vote for his/her
own players. A first and second team
will be selected. All players that received at least one vote, but not on the
first or second team selections, will be awarded honorable mention. Failure of a coach to submit a ballot or to
vote will result in his/her players being disqualified for consideration for
the All-Conference squads. A selection
meeting will be held on or before the first day of the Region VI Playoffs. The
Eastern Division and Western Division may choose separate sites for the
selection meetings. (
j. Tie-breaking formula if there
is a tie for first, second, or third and all three teams have qualified for
post-season play, Method B of the NAGWS tie-breaking procedure will be used. (
k. Financial considerations - The
competing colleges may agree upon the match amount guarantee.

Coaches Meeting - The KJCCC volleyball coaches, conference commissioner, region
director, will meet prior to the Region VI tournament to discuss rule changes
and to hold a coaches meeting each year. Every conference head and/or assistant
coach will attend. The date and site
will be determined by the commissioner. (

Section 12. Soccer:
Male/Female (

NJCAA) This is the same number of players permitted
to participate in any contest. These players must be identified on the
official game roster prior to the start of each contest.

and procedures- all conference matches will be played under the current
NCAA rules with the following exceptions:
(1) Unlimited substitutions apply with
no stoppage of the game clock.
(2) Playing squads are limited to 25

seeded conference team for the Region VI tournament.
h. Each
school on the men’s side will have a Region/Conference schedule that will
consist of ten (10) games versus Region VI/KJCCC opponents. The school on the men’s side will be divided

k. Conduct
1. Yellow
Card Substitution: When a player receives a yellow card, it is recommended that
the player must leave the game until the next opportunity to substitute. Another player may replace the player
receiving the yellow card. If the
substitute is not available, the team will play a player short until the next
opportunity to substitute.
2. An athlete or coach who is ejected for
persistent misconduct (2nd yellow card), abusive language, gesture,
or persistent misconduct after receiving a caution shall not be allowed to
participate in the next played contest.
3. An athlete or coach who is ejected
for fighting, violent misconduct, or serious foul play shall not be allowed to
participate in the next two contests.
4. Coaches receiving five (5)
accumulated yellow cards in a season will be required to sit out the next game.
5. Players with yellow and red
accumulations will follow the NCAA rules.
6. Any ejections at the end of league
play or postseason play will carry over to the next competition even if that is
the next season.
7. Any coach receiving a red card must
be reported to both participating colleges Athletic Directors and the Jayhawk
League Commissioner’s office.
l. Ejections:
Players ejected two (2) times during the season including
postseason for unsportsmanlike conduct shall not participate for the remainder
of the season as per KJCCC By Laws Article VIII,
Section 4. This would include foul
language, disrespect for officials, fighting, etc. Players who are ejected because of rule
infractions which would cause a player to receive two (2) yellow cards would
not count as an unsportsman-like ejection. (
m.
Assignment of Officials-2 NISOA Assignors (1 for eastern division, 1 for western
division) will be utilized. These
assignors will be selected and approved by the head coaches of each division. Officials fees will be determined by the going college rate
and paid by the home team for each conference competition. Assignor fees will be determined by each
institution and their individual assignor. Officials are responsible for
reporting all yellow and red cards to the assignors who will keep track of
accumulations and suspensions as well as suspensions served.
n.
Conference Game Ball – The Brine BC 105 Championship ball will be used for all KJCCC games.
Section 13. Athletic
Training (
a. Definition - The Athletic
Trainer is concerned with the prevention, management and rehabilitation of
athletic injuries.
(1) The athletic trainer should be a certified
member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Inc. (NATA).
(2) When an institution can not employ an
NATA certified athletic trainer, then someone (staff member, coach, student) shall be appointed to assume the basic athletic
training responsibilities.
(3) Athletic trainers shall develop their
practice in line with Performance Domains as established by the NATA Role
Delineation Panel.
(4) Athletic trainers shall follow appropriate
rules as established by the NJCAA.
(5) Athletic trainers shall provide aid to
any injured athlete, regardless of team.
(6) Athletic trainers shall adhere to the
universal precautions established for exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
(7) Athletic trainers shall adhere to the
NATA's Code of Ethics.
b. Athletic Training Facilities and
Services:
(1) When possible, host athletic trainers
shall provide adequate training room facilities and services for visiting
teams, even when the host team is not participating.
(2) Prior to any hosted event, host athletic
trainers shall inform visiting athletic trainers as to the location of
facilities and type of services to be provided.
(3) When possible, upon request of the
visiting teams and prior to the day of the event, host athletic trainers shall
provide competent athletic trainer coverage before, during and after the event.
c. Conference Championship Events -
Athletic training services of championship and all-star events involving
conference teams shall be directed by NATA certified athletic trainers.
