In his first go-round against the
always tough Jayhawk West competition, freshman Marky
Nolen helped spark his Saints to wins over two of the
top teams this week as he and Seward defeated previously
undefeated and 8th ranked Hutchinson Wednesday night and
went on the road to knock off 10-2 Barton County
Saturday evening. Nolen averaged 14 points and 9
rebounds a game on the week while shooting 57% from the
field.

JCCC sophomore forward Haydon Parks had a solid opening
to the East Jayhawk Conference slate for 2009-10. Parks
had 14 points and 13 rebounds in a home loss to Allen
County. He followed with a team high 16 points and nine
rebounds in road loss to Independence. In the two
games, Parks shot 75 percent from the field. |
