Nolen single handedly pushed Seward to a win over Garden City Wednesday night as the guard/forward combo owned the paint scoring 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds despite his 6’2 frame.  He averaged over 15 points and 7 rebounds per game on the week in helping the Saints to a 6-2 start in the first half of Jayhawk West Conference play.

Gulley led Highland to three straight wins this past week scoring 77 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Gulley had a season High 34 points against Labette.

Freshman Joe Mitchell had a knack for clutch shooting over the past week. Against Pratt, Mitchell hit a key 3-pointer in the final minute of a come-from-behind 70-67 road victory at Pratt. Then on Saturday night against Cloud County, with one time remaining and HCC trailing by one point, Mitchell hit a pair of free throws to lift the Dragons to victory. Mitchell is HCC’s leading scorer and is averaging 18 points per game in conference play.
