Position Title: Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach/Instructor

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, position is responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to

the Head Volleyball Coach. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, travel

arrangements, monitoring student–athletic academic performance, preparation of training sessions,

supervising of student workers, and other duties assigned.

JOB STANDARDS:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required and prior volleyball coaching and/or collegiate playing experience. Master’s

degree or a Bachelor’s degree with 18 graduate hours in teaching discipline.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game of Volleyball.
• Ability to foster a cooperative environment.
• Organizing and coordinating skills.
• Knowledge of NJCAA, Jayhawk Conference recruiting rules.
• General knowledge of budget preparation and fiscal management.
• Ability to lead and guide Division I student athletes in area of specialty.
• Understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide

range of constituencies in a diverse community.

• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license. Ability to obtain CDL for passenger transportation within

90 days of employment.

• Proficiency in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications.
