Thrasher Named As Brown Mackie Women's Head Basketball Coach

Troy Thrasher has been named the women's basketball coach at Brown Mackie College. Thrasher takes the place of Keith Ferguson, who recently resigned to accept the same position at Barton County Community College.

Thrasher is no stranger to Salina, having coached at Sacred Heart high school from 2004 to 2007. He has also coached at Newton, Dodge City, and Inman high schools. Thrasher also has assistant coaching experience at Hutchinson Community College and the University of Dallas.

"Troy comes to Brown Mackie with enthusiasm, energy, and an extreme desire to prove he can be successful as a head junior college coach" commented athletic director Francis Flax. "He will have his plate full to fill out a roster that has been depleted by the loss of 5 sophomores and 3 freshman that will not return from this past season." "However, I have all the confidence in the world that he will get that accomplished," added Flax.

Thrasher received an associates of art degree from Hutchinson Community College, a bachelor of science in education from Emporia State University, and a masters degree in sports administration from Wichita State University.
