June 4, 2009 Deao Earns National Gold Glove Award The NJCAA and Rawlings announced its Gold Glove Team for 2009. It recognizes the BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER in the nation at all 9 positions. Neosho County's Patrick Deao was named the 2009 Gold Glove winner in right field. It is the first such award won by a Panther for defense. Deao is the season and career holder for assists at Neosho County with 16 in a year and 22 in a career. Deao will receive a beautiful Gold Glove trophy in the near future. Deao was also named as the Kansas Defensive Player of the Year and was a 1st Team All Conference performer for the Panthers. Deao has signed to continue his career at Missouri Southern University which participates in the MIAA conference. Complete List |
