Shala Giardini scored 11 goals in two games this past week
as Barton won 19-0 and 8-1. Giardini scored 6 goals – one
short of a school record – in a 19-0 Jayhawk Conference win
over Independence then added 5 more in an 8-1 Jayhawk win at
Cowley. The freshman from Greeley, Colorado shot 20 times of
which 18 were on goal and 11 found the net for a goal.
Giardini now has 22 goals for the 6-2 Cougars this season.

Cindy Benitez

Benitez leads the NJCAA with 23 goals, 11 assists, and 57
points. This past week saw Benitez record 13 goals and 7
assists. Benitez scored, a then school record, seven goals
at NEO A&M to go along with one assist on Monday. She
followed that with a four goal, four assist game at Hesston
on Wednesday. On Saturday Benitez showed her real value to
the Grizzlies by recording a goal and assist vs #4 Iowa
Western. The Benitez goal came with 40 seconds remaining in
regulation to push the match to an overtime tie. Benitez
finished her week with a goal and assist vs Cloud County on
Sunday.

Humphrey ranks second in the NJCAA with 21 goals, 7 assists,
and 49 points...she trails only teammate Cindy Benitez. On
Monday Sade recorded a hat-trick and two assists at NEO
A&M. On Wednesday, just two days after she witnessed
Benitez break her school record for goals in a match,
Humphrey reclaimed it with eight goals to go with four
assists at Hesston. Sade finished her week vs Cloud County
on Sunday with a six goal performance. The week saw Sade
finish with 17 goals and six assists. |

Jaime Hertling

Midfielder
Topeka, Kan.
JCCC sophomore Jaime Hertling helped lead JCCC to a pair of
victories last week. In a 6-0 win over Allen County,
Hertling had a goals and two assists. Her first assist led
to the game winning goal. In JCCC's 11-0 win over NEO A&M,
Hertling had just one assist, but it was her passing and
playmaking that set up many of the JCCC's scoring chances in
the match. Hertling is tied for the team lead in assists
with seven. She led JCCC with 11 a year ago. With her nex
assist, Herlting will move into the top 10 all-time at JCCC.

Stephanie Franz

Buhler, KS
HCC freshman Stephanie Franz for the second-time this season
scored five goals in a game, which ties a team record and
broke the single-game points record with 11 against Northern
Oklahoma. Franz has 18 goals and 40 points for the season,
including two game-winning goals.
