Ashley Malone, a sophomore from Wichita East High School, powered the Grizzlies to a 6-1 record this week against a slate of tough Texas competition. She batted .360 (9-25) with six of her nine hits going for extra bases (four home runs and two doubles). Malone also had seven RBI, while also scoring six runs and stealing a base.

Maggie Ham once again dominated opposing hitters this week, going 3-0 with a save in four games in Texas this weekend. Ham, a sophomore from George West, Texas, pitched all 13 innings as the No. 11 Grizzlies defeated No. 15 Navarro 5-4. Ham struck out 14 batters in that game and struck out 37 hitters in 26 innings of work over the weekend, allowing just six earned runs. Ham is now 8-0 on the season for the Grizzlies.
