KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 11
COLBY, Kan. – Leading the Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team to a perfect 5-0 week, Blue Devil players Ian Woita and Donovan Johnson have been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball East Division Week 11 Players of the Week.
Ian Woita – KCKCC (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Ian Woita put together an outstanding all-around offensive week, leading Kansas City Kansas Community College to a perfect 5-0 record. Woita hit an impressive .500 (8-16) across four games, scoring nine runs and driving in eight RBI while posting a 1.063 SLG percentage and .526 on-base percentage. The sophomore tallied three home runs and totaled 17 bases, including a two-home run game in a 7-1 win over Allen in game two of the four-game series. In addition to his offensive production, Woita was flawless defensively, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 12 total chances and no errors.
Donovan Johnson – KCKCC (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Donovan Johnson was dominant on the mound in a statement performance, leading Kansas City Kansas Community College to a 12-0, five-inning run-rule victory over Allen on April 9 at the KCKCC Baseball Field. Johnson tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out nine batters. His performance was a key part of KCKCC’s 15th consecutive win, as the Blue Devils continue their strong season.
