Derrick Rivers Named Final KJCCC D1 Men's Basketball Player of the Week In 2025-26
COLBY, Kan. – Helping Dodge City earn a road win over Seward County in their regular season finale to secure the number three seed in the NJCAA Region 6 Tournament, sophomore Derrick Rivers has earned the final Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Dodge City capped the regular season by stealing a victory on the road over Seward County to secure the number three seed in the NJCAA Region 6 Tournament. Derrick Rivers led the Conquistadors with 25 points on eight-of-16 shooting and was seven-of-eight from the free throw line, while adding seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The sophomore had a late steal and layup to pull the Conqs to within one in the final minute and then had the assist on the game-winning layup with 15 seconds remaining in the contest.
