ALL-KJCCC MEN'S D1 EAST SOCCER SELECTIONS
Coach of the Year – Jeff Cole – Johnson County Community College
Picked to finish last in the KJCCC East Division race at the start of the season, Jeff Cole's Johnson County men's soccer team exceeded everyone's expectations by earning a share of the conference title while moving up the national rankings to a No. 13 spot in the final NJCAA Poll. In his third season as the Cavaliers head coach, Cole guided JCCC to a 14-7-0 mark and one victory away from qualifying for the NJCAA D-I National Tournament.
Offensive Player of the Year: Pedro Faria – Kansas City Kansas Community College
Kansas City Kansas sophomore midfielder Pedro Faria was selected the KJCCC East D-I Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year for 2022. Faria was an integral part of the Blue Devils offense throughout the entire season. A reigning East Division 2nd Team member from a season ago, Faria led the team in goals and assists, while appearing in all but one game. Faria helped the Blue Devils pull off two upsets over consecutive nationally-ranked teams in Johnson County CC and Coffeyville CC Oct. 12 and 19.
Defensive Player of the Year: Cole Stewart – Johnson County Community College
Johnson County goalkeeper Cole Stewart made team and conference history this year by becoming the first goalkeeper to be selected as the NJCAA National D-I Goalkeeper of the Week on three occasions. Stewart finished the season 4-5-0 with one shutout, a goals against average of 1.25, 61 saves and a .836 save percentage. He ranks third in KJCCC D-I in GAA, third in saves and second in save percentage. Stewart was an all-conference selection last season as well.
