2016-17 KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Week 13
Katrina Roenfeldt averaged a double-double in her school record breaking week in helping Barton to a pair of wins. Knocking down seven from beyond the arc on Wednesday at Independence, Roenfeldt also grabbed eight defensive rebounds while dishing out a game high four assists and seven steals. In Saturday's win over Dodge City, the 5'6" Roenfeldt hauled down ten defensive rebounds in the first half before grabbing another eight in second half play to break the 1984 single game record with eighteen defensive rebounds while placing fourth with twenty total. Roenfeldt also buried five more treys in her trek of eclipsing the program's three-point mark knocking down 12-of-25 from beyond the arc. Leading the conference in defensive rebounds, the Dodge City native also increased her conference leading steal average to 3.7 per game after recording eleven in the two victories.
Megan Poole, sophomore, averaged 16.5 points per game this week for Pratt while shooting 48% from the field and she averaged 16.5 rebounds per game in a pair of contests for the Beavers. Poole also managed to get a double-double in each of this week's games. Wednesday against Neosho she put up 21 points and had 21 rebounds and backed that up with 12 points and 12 rebounds against Colby Sunday as Pratt rolled past the Trojans 69-54.
Sophomore guard Kyessence Collins averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals while leading the No. 3 ranked Lady Cavaliers to a pair of wins last week. She began the week with a career-high 20 points to power JCCC to a 63-54 home victory over No. 8 ranked Highland. She also had four rebounds, two assists and two steals. She capped the week with 11 points, seven boards, eight assists and two steals in a 92-46 road win at Fort Scott.
