KJCCC Women's Basketball Back To Eight Teams Ranked Or Receiving Votes In NJCAA Top 25 Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 5 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 5 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – The week five NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Women’s Basketball top 25 polls have been released, with seven Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams currently holding rankings with an eighth receiving votes.
Things remained relatively status quo from the week prior for the seven ranked teams, as the order of ranked KJCCC women’s basketball teams did not change while those teams that hold new rankings from the week prior saw minor movements based on the previous week’s results.
Remaining unbeaten with wins over Colby and Coffeyville, Dodge City improved to 10-0 overall and is now the lone KJCCC team to hold an unbeaten record as the Conquistadors continue their hold on the number one ranking in the NJCAA. Falling three spots following an overtime road loss to Garden City, Butler checks in at number 14 with a 10-1 overall record after dispatching Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa 87-36 in their non-conference finale last Saturday while Hutchinson used convincing wins over Barton and Cowley to improve one spot up to number 18. Coffeyville was not punished for an eight-point home loss to Dodge City coupled with a 15-point road win at Cowley, remaining at number 25 in the latest rankings with a 10-2 overall record.
Two of the three ranked teams from the KJCCC in the latest NJCAA Division 2 top 25 poll saw new rankings this week, with Johnson County the only unchanged team after playing a road game at Raritan Valley Community College and earning a 99-48 win in New Jersey to improve to 13-0 this season. Dropping three spots down to number 16, Allen is now 8-3 overall following a 1-1 week last week with a win over North Central Missouri College before falling at Crowder College to finish out their 2025 portion of their schedule. Picking up two wins at the John Wood Classic, Kansas City Kansas makes a three-spot move up the rankings to number 21 with just one game on their schedule this week. Neosho County has worked their way back into the list of teams receiving votes following a 3-0 week last week, earning wins at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, followed by wins over John Wood and Olive-Harvey at the John Wood Classic to improve to 9-6.
This week, 22 games are scheduled as teams look to close out their first half of the 2025-26 season on a high note, as 12 of the 22 games will take place between teams within the KJCCC. Following three non-conference games for KJCCC D2 teams across Monday and Tuesday to go along with Barton traveling to Fort Hays Tech Northwest, action picks up Wednesday with six more games on Wednesday, highlighted by top-ranked Dodge City hosting number 18 Hutchinson in the first of two matchups this season by last year’s KJCCC regular season co-champions. A top 10 battle in Division 2 will take place on Friday evening when Johnson County hosts Parkland College ahead of another eight games that are scheduled for Saturday including the final six conference games for KJCCC D1 action before an extended holiday break.
