2017 KJCCC Baseball Players of the Week, Week 8

Coming off last week's four-hit shutout of Garden City, Jarret Seaton was again solid on the hill limitng the bats of No. 14 ranked Hutchinson to four hits, to go along with four strikeouts in seven innings of work leading the Cougars to the 9-1 win.  Sending half of his batters back to the dugout on three pitches or less, Seaton retired five of the seven leadoff batters he faced with Hutchinson's lone run coming on a leadoff triple followed by a one-out sacrifice fly. The Nebraska freshman wouldn't allow a runner past first base the rest of the game giving Barton the doubleheader split improving to a conference best 7-0 on the year while lowering his ERA to third best in the Jayhawk at 2.78. 

JCCC sophomore left-hander Davis Schwab improved to 5-0 on the year with a 5-1 win over Labette. Schwab allowed just one run off four hits and struck out eight batters, upping his strikeout-per-9-inning ratio to 10.47, sixth-best in the conference.

JCCC sophomore Brandt Ollinger hit .500 (9-for-18) with two doubles, a home run, seven runs scored and five RBI to lead the Cavaliers to five wins. He also extended his  hit streak to 16 consecutive games.
