KJCCC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Wk. 4
Johnson County sophomore infielder Brady Slavens batted .600 (9-for-15) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, six runs scored and 13 driven in over in four victories last week for the No. 13-ranked Cavaliers. In the final game of the series against Kirkwood, Slavens was 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and six RBIs. For the season, Slavens is hitting .490 with 16 of his 25 hits have going for extra bases. He leads the conference and is tied for third with 28 RBIs. He also leads the conference and is tied third nationally with eight home runs.
Dillan Janak, sophomore left-handed pitcher from Sioux Falls, SD, improved to 2-0 on the season after allowing just one hit Thursday to Highland. Janak pitch six innings in the 10-0 victory giving up just one hit in his 21 batters faced, two walks while striking out eight.
