KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 12
COLBY, Kan. – Sweeping another Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball East Division series, the Johnson County Community College baseball team has swept the KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week awards for a fifth time this season as Ryan Bradford and Ashton Nance pick up week 12 honors.
Ryan Bradford – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Ryan Bradford continues to etch his name into the Johnson County record book, delivering another dominant week at the plate while powering the number one-ranked Cavaliers to a conference series sweep over Kansas City Kansas. Bradford extended his hitting streak to 29 consecutive games—just one shy of the program record—while also pushing his RBI streak to 27 straight contests. The freshman slugger was nearly unstoppable in the four-game set, batting .625 (10-for-16) with a walk, three home runs, eight runs scored, and eight RBI. His offensive surge continues to place him among the nation’s elite. Bradford now has 29 home runs on the season, tied for the second-most in the country. He also leads the nation in extra-base hits with 53 and ranks fifth nationally with 83 RBI.
Ashton Nance – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Ashton Nance had a strong outing for the Cavaliers in a 7-1 victory at KCKCC Saturday afternoon. Nance was in control throughout, tossing a complete game and allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight to earn the win. With the victory, Nance improved to 10-0 on the season.
