KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 4
COLBY, Kan. – For the second time this season, the Johnson County Community College baseball team has swept the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division Baseball Player of the Week awards as Ryan Bradford and Ashton Nance have earned honors after helping the Cavaliers to a four-game sweep of Pratt Community College.
Ryan Bradford – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Ryan Bradford was a one-man wrecking crew in a four-game series sweep over Pratt for the number four-ranked Johnson County baseball team. The freshman from Imperial, Missouri hit .667 (nine-for-16) with three doubles, five home runs, seven runs scored, and nine runs driven in. In the opening game of the series, Bradford had a single, double, and home run, scored three times, and drove in three to lead the Cavaliers to a 10-7 win. He followed with a monster game, ripping two doubles and two home runs, scoring twice, and driving in three to help the Cavaliers pull out a 12-11 win. In the series final, Bradford belted two more homers and drove in three in a 12-0 blowout over the Beavers. Through 16 games, Bradford is hitting at a .508 clip (30-for-59) with 11 doubles, two triples, nine homers, 28 runs scored, and 33 RBI.
Ashton Nance – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week) \
Johnson County right-hander Ashton Nance earned a victory over Pratt in the final game of a four-game series against the Beavers. Nance allowed just one hit across five shutout innings, striking out six batters in a 12-0 victory. With the win, Nance improved to 4-0 on the season and has 14 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched for the number four-ranked Cavaliers.
