KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – A conference series sweep for Johnson County over Coffeyville and a conference series win for Fort Scott over Cowley have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division Baseball Player of the Week honors for Cavalier Ryan Bradford and Greyhound Brayden Carter.
Ryan Bradford – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Ryan Bradford continues to hit the cover off the ball for Johnson County, helping the Cavaliers sweep a four-game series over Coffeyville. The freshman utility player posted a slash line of .579/.619/1.474 after going 11-for-19 at the plate with three doubles, a triple, four home runs, nine runs scored, a walk, two stolen bases, and nine RBI. For the season, Bradford is hitting .481 with 16 doubles, 15 home runs, and 50 RBI through only 28 games.
Brayden Carter – Fort Scott (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Carter tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Cowley College to help the Greyhounds take three of four games against the Tigers in KJCCC East Division play. Striking out nine and issuing just one walk, Carter kept the Cowley batters stymied throughout the game, allowing FSCC to come away with a 2-0 victory in game three of the four-game series.
