KJCCC Baseball West Division Players of the Week - Week 12
COLBY, Kan. – Putting up two of the biggest performances of the week across the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference baseball landscape last week, Colby Community College outfielder Turner Zdunich and Dodge City Community College pitcher Cameron Stewart have each been named the KJCCC Baseball West Division Players of the Week.
Turner Zdunich – Colby (KJCCC Baseball West Division Player of the Week)
Turner Zdunich put together a dominant week at the plate, hitting an incredible .556 (10-for-18) across four games with seven runs scored, three home runs, two triples, and nine RBI while posting a .579 on-base percentage and a 1.278 slugging percentage. The sophomore recorded multiple hits in three of the four games, including a four-for-six performance in a 17–15 win over Garden City. Zdunich delivered in the biggest moments, blasting a walk-off home run in the final game of the series to cap off his standout week and claim the series victory against Garden City. Earlier in Saturday’s doubleheader, Zdunich came just a single shy of hitting for the cycle, showcasing his power and extra-base ability with five extra-base hits and 23 total bases on the week.
Cameron Stewart – Dodge City (KJCCC Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week)
Dodge City picked up a series sweep of Pratt, and the tone was set in the series opener as the Conquistadors picked up a 1-0 win behind the pitching of Cameron Stewart. Stewart tossed a seven-inning gem to earn the win as he held Pratt off the scoreboard. Over seven innings, Stewart gave up just four hits and no walks, while striking out seven.
