KJCCC Baseball West Division Players of the Week - Week 9
COLBY, Kan. – Taking three of four games over conference opponents last week to stay atop the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference standings, the Hutchinson Community College and Cloud County Community College baseball teams were led by this week’s KJCCC West Division Baseball Players of the Week Elias Duncan and Ian Razak.
Elias Duncan – Hutchinson (KJCCC Baseball West Division Player of the Week)
Blue Dragon second baseman/utility player Elias Duncan had a big week and extended his hitting streak to 19 games in a 4-1 week for number 11-ranked Hutchinson. For the week, Duncan hit .563 (nine for 16) with four home runs and 12 RBI. The sophomore had a five-RBI game against Southeast and homered in four of the five games played. In addition to his home runs, Duncan had two doubles and a triple. Duncan slugged 1.563 for the week and is now tied for the fourth-longest hitting streak in Blue Dragon history.
Ian Razak – Cloud County (KJCCC Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week)
Cloud County freshman Ian Razak improved to 4-0 on the season after leading the T-Birds to a 7-4 road victory over Dodge City on March 26. Razak threw six scoreless innings, scattering eight hits and two walks while striking out five. The McPherson, Kansas native currently leads the KJCCC West with a 1.89 ERA through five starts, allowing just seven earned runs in 33.1 innings pitched.
