CHARLOTTE, NC. – Hitting five home runs and driving in 11 runs last week, Butler Community College outfielder Danny Wideman has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Player of the Week for his play against Des Moines Area Community College.

Butler freshman outfielder Danny Wideman delivered a monster performance over the weekend, powering the Grizzlies to a four-game series split with Des Moines Area Community College. In three games against the Bears, Wideman racked up eight hits in 12 at‑bats, blasting five home runs, driving in 11 runs, scoring six times, while adding a double and three stolen bases. Wideman homered twice in both games two and three of the series, then capped the weekend with another long ball in game four.
