Kahlil Render, Highland sophomore, ended the day with a total of 249 total yards and 4 total TD's (3 passing, 1 rushing) to lead our team to a victory over the number 8-ranked team in the country. Kahlil os the Player of the Week for Offense.
Freshman defensive back Adrian Cross had a huge interception in the end zone and was in on 10 tackles to help No. 16 Hutchinson defeat No. 18 Coffeyville 34-29. Cross's interception came with three minutes to play in the fourth quarter and HCC clinging to a five-point lead. Cross' pick – the fourth of the game for HCC – stopped a Raven drive that started at the Hutch 22. Cross also had one pass broken up. Adrian is Player of the Week for Defense.
Cooper Lee's punting was a helpful weapon that enabled the Coffeyville Red Ravens to stay within striking distance in the game. The freshman's directional punting and his 5 punts inside the 20, along with his 37-yard made field goal really helped Coffeyville's failed comeback. Cooper is Player of the Week for Special Teams.
