KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 2
With both teams posting big wins in Week 2 of the NJCAA Football season, players from Butler and Coffeyville Community Colleges were named KJCCC Football Players of the Week for Week 2.
Receiver Darius Lassiter scored a pair of touchdowns in Butler's 43-23 win over No. 11 Hutchinson on Saturday to earn KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Coffeyville linebacker Reise Collier and kicker Forrest Taylor were the conference's Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week after the Red Ravens defeated Dodge City 22-13
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Darius Lassiter, Butler
For the second week in a row, Darius Lassiter, junior wide receiver from Lawrence, KS, racked up more than 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns as the Grizzlies defeated the Blue Dragons on the road 43-23 Saturday night in Gowans Stadium. Lassiter had seven receptions totaling 108 yards with two touchdowns in the game. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch and made a highlight reel one-handed grab in the first quarter that sparked the Butler offense. Lassiter has seven catches this season for 240 yards and five touchdowns, tied for NJCAA best.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Reise Collier, Coffeyville
Red Raven freshman linebacker Reise Collier, who hails from Oklahoma City, was all over the field in the 22-13 victory over Dodge City as he recorded 20 tackles in the game including 13 solo tackles. Collier is currently ranked #1 in the NJCAA with an average of 15 total tackles per game

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Forrest Taylor, Coffeyville
Red Raven kicker Forrest Taylor, a freshman from Foley, AL, connected on 1 of 2 PAT's and drilled three field goals in the Red Ravens win over Dodge city. Taylor's long FG of 47 yards helped seal the victory for Coffeyville by moving the Raven lead in the game out to a two-score margin.
