KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 11
Players from Hutchinson and Garden City - the two KJCCC Playoff Championship Game finalists are the Week 11 KJCCC Football Players of the Week.
Blue Dragon receiver Malik Benson had a huge game vs. Independence and was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week. Linebacker Darius Johnson had double-digit tackles for Garden City in a semifinal win over Butler and was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Hutchinson's Demeco Roland was the Special Teams Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Malik Benson, Hutchinson
Hutchinson freshman receiver Malik Benson turned in the third-best single-game receiving day in Blue Dragon history with five receptions for 197 yards as No. 12 Hutchinson defeated No. 5 Independence 42-0 in the KJCCC Playoff Semifinals on Sunday. Benson caught touchdown passes of 87, 76 and 11 yards … the 87 and 76 yarders were on the first two offensive plays of the game. The 197 receiving yards and three touchdowns are career highs for Benson and the 197 receiving yards is the third most in single-game Blue Dragon history.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Darius Johnson, Garden City
Darius Johnson, a 3-technique, was a menace in Garden City's 27-16 victory over Butler in the Region semifinals on Sunday. He forced two fumbles, recorded 12 tackles and two sacks.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Demeco Roland, Hutchinson
Blue Dragon sophomore defensive tackle Demeco Roland made a huge special teams play that helped the No. 12 Blue Dragons defeat No. 5 Independence in the KJCCC Playoff Semifinals. With the Dragons leading 14-0 in the first quarter, Roland blocked a 36-yard field goal attempt that kept the Dragon margin at 14.
