KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 3
For the first time since the KJCCC started Football Player of the Week honors, one player garnered 2 of the 3 weekly awards.
Butler sophomore receiver/return return specialist A.J. King was named both the Jayhawk Conference's Week 3 Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in a 50-49 overtime loss to No. 10 Snow College on Saturday in El Dorado. Hutchinson sophomore linebacker R.J. Evans was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
AJ KING, Butler - Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week
King, sophomore wide receiver and return specialist from Wichita, was huge for the Grizzlies Saturday in Butler's 50-49 overtime loss to No. 10-ranked Snow. King totaled 348 all-purpose yards in the loss. Not only was he a threat downfield as a wide receiver but also as a kick and punt returner.
King caught 11 passes for 158 yards with a long of 44-yards and touchdown. As a returner, King had two kick returns with an average of 44.0 yards per return with a long of 47. He had three punt returns and took one to the house for 82 yards and a touchdown, tying the game in the fourth quarter at 35-35. King's 82-yard punt return is the fifth longest in Butler program history.

RJ EVANS, Hutchinson - Defensive Player of the Week
Blue Dragon sophomore linebacker R.J. Evans had nine tackles and made several key plays in No. 2 Hutchinson's 31-28 overtime victory over No. 7 Iowa Central. Evans, a 6-1, 220-pound sophomore from Hanceville, Alabama, had 1.5 quarterback sacks as well as another quarterback hurry and a deflected pass to help the Dragons make several key stops in the fourth quarter and overtime.
