KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 11
Players from Highland and Coffeyville were tapped as Jayhawk Conference Football Players of the Week for Week 11 on Tuesday.
Highland receiver Ja'Vontae Williams had a huge day for the Scotties in a loss to No. 15 Iowa Central and was named Offensive Player of the Week. Coffeyville linebacker Kalil Alexander and special teams player Jabin Ford played huge rolls in Coffeyville's victory over No. 2 Iowa Western and were named Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
JA'VONTAE WILLIAMS, Highland - Offensive Player of the Week
The freshman receiver from Belle Glade, Florida, had a huge day for the Scotties in a loss to No. 15 Iowa Central with 11 receptions and 206 receiving yards. Williams also scored three touchdowns. For the game, Williams finished with 262 all-purpose yards. All together, Williams had 14 touches against the Tritons and averaged 18.7 yards per touch.

KALIL ALEXANDER, Coffeyville - Defensive Player of the Week
Red Raven sophomore defensive lineman Kalil Alexander had a tremendous game against No. 2 Iowa Western to help No. 8 Coffeyville defeat the Reivers, 23-7. Alexander was all over the field registering a season high-16 total tackles with 11 of the 16 being solos. Alexander also leveled two sacks and five tackles for loss in the ranked matchup.

JABIN FORD, Coffeyville - Special Teams Player of the Week
Red Raven freshman defensive back Jabin Ford scooped up a blocked field goal attempt by No. 2 Iowa Western and then raced 62 yards to score the first touchdown of the game for Coffeyville. Ford's touchdown was a big momentum swing for No. 8 Coffeyville in a game showcasing two NJCAA ranked opponents.
