15 KJCCC Football Players Earn NJCAA All-America Honors, Seven Named First-Team Selections
CHARLOTTE, NC – For the second-straight season, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference had seven players earn first-team All-America status as a total of 15 players from four different conference schools were named NJCAA Football All-Americans on Saturday, December 20th.
The seven first-team All-American selections is tied with the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference for the most first-team selections among any NJCAA D1 football conference this season while the 15 selections are the third most among any NJCAA Football conference this year.
First-team selections for the KJCCC were led by KJCCC Co-Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Salley Jr. (Hutchinson) and KJCCC Defensive Player of the Year Darius Wiley (Hutchinson) with the Blue Dragons also having first-team selections MJ Graham (defense) and Kordell Gouldsby (special teams). Also earning first-team All-America honors on offense was NJCAA rushing leader Markellus Bass (Butler) and Garden City offensive lineman Siosaia “Leni” Lapuaho while Highland’s Kameron Graham was a first-team All-America selection on the defensive side.
The conference added NJCAA Second-Team All-American selections Justyce Betts (Butler – linebacker), Asher Horn (Garden City – defensive back), and Hunter Rioux (Butler – kicker) while Honorable Mention All-American honors were bestowed upon Steven Moore (Garden City – offensive line), KJ Henson (Hutchinson – defensive line), Greg Johnson (Garden City – defensive back), Da’Mun Allen (Hutchinson – defensive back), and Denzel More (Hutchinson – punter).
Among KJCCC schools, Hutchinson led all teams with seven All-American selections, including four first-team honorees, while Garden City had four selections. Butler also had multiple All-Americans with three honorees, with Highland also representing the conference with one All-American.
