2025 KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Weeks 0/1
COLBY, Kan. – With the first two weeks of the NJCAA football season complete, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has awarded its first KJCCC Football Player of the Week awards for 2025 with Independence Community College quarterback Keegan Anderson and Dodge City Community College defensive back Anthony Mattison each picking up the first honors of the year.
Keegan Anderson (Independence) – KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Anderson made his first collegiate start on Saturday on the road at Ellsworth Community College and led the Pirates to their first win of the season with a 51-14 thrashing of the Panthers. Completing 17 of 27 passes for 298 total yards, Anderson tossed four touchdowns and had a quarterback efficiency of 204.6 while adding nine rushing yards on four rushing attempts.
Anthony Mattison (Dodge City) – KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Dodge City took on number nine Tyler Junior College on the road in season-opening action, and while the contest went the way of the Apaches, the Conquistadors had a standout performance on defense from Anthony Mattison. Mattison, the top returning tackler for the Conquistadors, led Dodge City by recording nine total tackles, two tackles for loss, and an interception.
