2025 KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 13
COLBY, Kan. – Wins in the regular season finales for Butler Community College and Hutchinson Community College have led to the final Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Player of the Week awards for Grizzly players Nolan Chambers and Mason Teague, along with Blue Dragon linebacker Teegan Haines.
Nolan Chambers (Butler) – KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Butler's Nolan Chambers delivered a career performance in Saturday’s dramatic comeback win over number eight Iowa Central. The redshirt sophomore hauled in four receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns, both coming in the final 2:25 of the game. On the first play of the Grizzlies’ drive while trailing 24-14, Chambers broke free for a 61-yard touchdown to cut the Tritons’ lead to 24-21. After the defense forced a quick three-and-out, Chambers struck again—this time with the eventual game-winning score at the 1:40 mark. The Grizzly defense sealed the victory with back-to-back sacks, forcing a turnover on downs and securing the 28-24 triumph in thrilling fashion.
Teegan Haines (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Blue Dragon sophomore linebacker Teegan Haines played a huge role defensively in leading the top-ranked Blue Dragons to a 27-14 win over number 14 Garden City to clinch the outright KJCCC championship. Defensively, Haines had a tremendous game with a team-high 11 tackles, including three tackles for loss and one quarterback sack. Haines also had a forced fumble and a pass break up on a fourth-down play that got the Dragons the ball back after a turnover on downs. The Blue Dragons held Garden City’s league-best rushing attack to 91 yards on 34 carries and 210 yards of total offense.
Mason Teague (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Grizzly punter Mason Teague helped Butler defeat number eight Iowa Central 28-24 on Saturday to finish the regular season with a 7-3 overall record. Teague had five punts for 216 yards with a long of 67 yards, helping the Grizzlies play the field position game throughout the contest in the comeback victory. Teague also had one punt inside the 20 in the win.
