2025 KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 4
COLBY, Kan. – Another win over a top 10 foe by top-ranked Hutchinson Community College and a walk-off field goal leading to an overtime victory for Butler Community College has earned Blue Dragon players Derrick Salley Jr. and Darius Wiley, along with Grizzly kicker Hunter Rioux, Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Players of the Week honors for week four.
Derrick Salley Jr. (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Blue Dragon sophomore receiver Derrick Salley Jr. has his second three-touchdown game of the season and recorded career highs for receptions and receiving yards in number one Hutchinson's 35-17 road victory at number nine Iowa Central. Salley had eight catches for 146 yards and touchdowns of 44, 10, and 29 yards. Salley leads the NJCAA with seven touchdown receptions. He has 15 catches for 326 yards through three games.
Darius Wiley (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Week
In a game where several Blue Dragons defenders could have been nominated this week, defensive end Darius Wiley had a major impact in number one Hutchinson's 35-17 win at number nine Iowa Central on Saturday. Wiley had a season-high 11 total tackles, which included five solo stops and 3.5 tackles for loss totaling 17 yards. The redshirt freshman also had one quarterback sack for 7 yards and blocked a field goal on special teams.
Hunter Rioux (Butler) – KJCCC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Butler kicker Hunter Rioux accounted for 12 of the Grizzlies' 30 points, including the game-winning field goal in Saturday's overtime victory over Independence. Rioux was 3-for-5 on field goals with a long of 41 yards, and 3-for-3 on extra point attempts. The redshirt freshman knocked in a 20-yard field goal in overtime to walk it off for the number 13-ranked Butler Grizzlies, helping BCC improve to 3-0 this season.
