NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 8 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – In addition to top-ranked Hutchinson, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference saw three of its four ranked teams move up in the latest NJCAA Division 1 Football rankings released on Monday, October 14th.
No changes occurred to the top four of the rankings as Hutchinson is joined by number two Iowa Western, number three Tyler Junior College, and number four Mississippi Gulf Coast in maintaining their spots in the rankings. Moving up one spot to number seven is Garden City Community College, following a 35-7 home win over Independence while Coffeyville Community College used a 51-0 road shutout over Highland to move up two spots to number 12. Also moving up a spot is Butler Community College, despite the Grizzlies having spent the past two weeks idle with a 3-1 overall record to be ranked number 14 this week.
Six KJCCC schools will be in action across four games this week, including a pair of matchups between KJCCC schools. Kicking off the weekend is Dodge City making the long trek to Ellsworth Community College for an 11 AM kickoff in Iowa Falls, while Hutchinson hosts Independence for a KJCCC matchup at 1 PM at Gowans Stadium. Also kicking off at 1 PM is Coffeyville against Iowa Central in Coffeyville while Butler will play host to Highland with a 3 PM kickoff in El Dorado.
