Week 9 Ranked Matchups Leads To Shuffling, New Rankings For Three KJCCC Schools In Week 10 Poll
NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 10 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – Results from ranked matchups among the four ranked Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference football teams led to shuffling and new rankings for three of the teams as the NJCAA has released its week 10 D1 Football rankings on Monday, October 27th.
With the top five of the poll starting to solidify more and more with each passing week, Hutchinson remains the unanimous number one-ranked team after dispatching previously number 10-ranked Coffeyville by a score of 31-0 at home on Saturday evening to improve to 7-0 this season. Also winning inside the top five last week to maintain their rankings were number two Iowa Western (40-6 at Independence), number three Tyler Junior College (38-17 at Kilgore College), number four Northwest Mississippi Community College (45-10 at Holmes Community College), and number five Georgia Military College (21-7 over Snow College). The first change in the poll comes following a 26-23 double-overtime thriller in Garden City last Saturday night as Butler handed number six Garden City their second loss of the season to jump from number 13 up to number nine in this week’s poll, while GCCC falls to number 11. Coffeyville dropped three spots down to number 13 following their defeat at Hutchinson, while the remaining teams that were ranked in the top 10 last week all moved up one spot.
The potential for further shakeups in the poll is very much in play this weekend as six KJCCC schools are in action across four more games this Saturday, highlighted by another top 10 showdown featuring top-ranked Hutchinson heading to El Dorado to take on number nine Butler at 7 PM on Saturday night. One other KJCCC battle will take place, with Independence hosting Dodge City at 1 PM in Independence, while Garden City will travel to number two Iowa Western for a 1 PM kickoff in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Coffeyville will host Ellsworth Community College in Coffeyville at 1 PM.
