Latest NJCAA Football Poll Features Four Ranked Teams From KJCCC
NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 7 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – At the halfway point of the regular season, four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams hold rankings in the latest NJCAA Division 1 Football Top 15 poll released on Monday, October 6th.
The top two teams from the league maintain their rankings from the week prior as Hutchinson turned in a 50-0 shutout of Ellsworth Community College to continue as the top-ranked team in the poll while number eight-ranked Garden City used an 89-0 shutout of Community Christian College (Michigan) to improve to 4-1 overall. There was no change in any of the top nine teams in the poll this week, as all five teams ranked in the top nine that had games last week won their games. The first change comes following previously number 10-ranked Coffeyville’s home loss to number two Iowa Western, dropping the Red Ravens down to number 14 this week, while Butler is back into the rankings with the number 15 ranking after receiving votes last week.
Conference play is in full swing this week as the schedule will feature three games between KJCCC foes beginning at 11 AM with number eight Garden City playing host to Independence. Also on Saturday’s schedule is a 1 PM matchup between Hutchinson and Dodge City while Coffeyville travels to Highland for a 1 PM kickoff from Porter Family Stadium. The lone KJCCC team not in action this week is Butler, who is idle for a second consecutive week.
