Hutchinson, Garden City, Butler Maintain Spots In Week Four NJCAA Football Poll
NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 4 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – Big matchups last week for ranked Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference football teams did not affect rankings for conference schools in the week four NJCAA Division 1 football rankings as two of three teams held their ranking from the prior week.
Following a battle of the top two-ranked teams as part of the first ESPN+ NJCAA Football Game of the Week, number one Hutchinson turned a last-minute go-ahead touchdown into a 30-27 home win over number two Iowa Western as both teams held their rankings in the polls while seeing a shakeup occur further down the rankings. Also holding steady with their rankings was number four Garden City, as the Broncbusters had their southwest Kansas rivalry against Dodge City take place across two days following weather issues Saturday night, earning a come-from-behind 24-17 victory over the Conquistadors to improve to 2-0. The lone change for KJCCC schools in this week’s polls came from unbeaten Butler Community College after the Grizzlies tied a program record for most points scored in a game after defeating Ellsworth 86-0 in their 2025 home opener to move up two spots from number 15 up to number 13.
This week is set to be the busiest football weekend of the season through four weeks of the season as all seven KJCCC schools will be in action on the same day which will begin with an 11 AM kickoff from Dodge City when the Conquistadors host number two Iowa Western. Other KJCCC/ICCAC battles this coming Saturday will see number one Hutchinson head to number nine Iowa Central for a 12 PM kickoff, while Highland will host Ellsworth in search of their first win of the season with a 1 PM kickoff in Highland. Conference clashes will see Independence travel to Butler, with kickoff set for 1 PM from BG Products Veterans Stadium, while Garden City will be back at home under the lights to host Coffeyville Community College at 7 PM.
