2025-26 KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 14
COLBY, Kan. – Averaging 30.0 points per game across two games last week, Barton Community College’s Aris Rodriguez has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and is joined by this week’s D2 Player of the Week, Tavian Cruse of Johnson County.
Aris Rodriguez - Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Aris Rodriguez erupted for a dominant two-game stretch, averaging 30.0 points while shooting 56.4 percent from the field to fuel Barton’s offensive surge. The sophomore guard totaled 60 points in 66 minutes, adding six steals while posting a 4.0 assist-to-turnover ratio with just one turnover on the week. Rodriguez opened with 21 points on eight-of-14 shooting in a win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest before exploding for a career-high 39 points against Garden City, connecting on 14-of-25 from the floor and 10-of-13 at the free throw line. His relentless downhill pressure impacted both ends of the floor, highlighted by a career-best six steals in the Garden City contest.
Tavian Cruse – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Tavian Cruse recorded a double-double in both Johnson County victories last week, which moved him into a tie for the all-time career mark in team history with 30. In a 61-57 comeback win at Kansas City Kansas, the sophomore forward finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cruse followed with a 12-point, 13-rebound effort in a 66-56 win at Labette and finished the week shooting 56.5 percent from the field. For the season, Cruse is averaging a double-double of 13.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game and currently leads the conference in rebounding.
