2025-26 KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 16
COLBY, Kan. – Key wins for Colby Community College to secure a spot in the NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Men’s Basketball Plains District Tournament and a win in the regular season finale for Highland to secure a home playoff game have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards for Trojan Aliou Diallo and Scottie Tavian Tate.
Aliou Diallo - Colby (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Diallo led the Trojans to two key conference victories over Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Garden City last week to help the Trojans secure a spot in the upcoming NJCAA Region 6 Men's Basketball Tournament. Averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game last week, Diallo shot 44.4 percent from the field and was a perfect 14-for-14 from the free-throw line across the two wins. After delivering a clutch performance in Wednesday’s 71–70 victory over Fort Hays Tech, where he scored 18 points and hit the game-winning basket, Diallo followed with a team-high 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists in Saturday’s 80–60 win over Garden City.
Tavian Tate – Highland (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Tavian Tate was instrumental in helping the Scotties bounce back from a midweek loss to earn a win over Allen and secure the number three seed in the NJCAA Region 6 D2 Plains District Tournament. Tate played all 80 minutes in HCC's two games, averaging 20.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, and slammed the door on a potential Allen comeback with back-to-back three pointers in the final minute of Saturday's win for the Scotties.
