11 Individuals Named To 2025 All-KJCCC Men's Golf Teams
COLBY, Kan. – The 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Golf Championships have come and gone with 11 individuals earning the distinction of All-Conference honors for their play across 54 holes at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas.
The six-team, 38 individual player tournament took place April 14-15 with Hutchinson Community College winning the team title by shooting a three-round total of 876 to beat out Garden City Community College who was the only other team to shoot under 900 with a team score of 884. In third place was Dodge City (907) followed by Barton Community College (954), Hesston (971), and Coffeyville (1,074).
Individual medalist honors were earned by Hutchinson’s Charlie Box after seeing the sophomore shoot an opening-round 10-under 62 followed by rounds of 72-69 to win the tournament with a score of 13-under 203. Earning a runner-up individual finish was Garden City’s Ilan Dufrenoy who shot 68-71-67 across the three rounds for a 10-under 206 followed by teammate Jack Dyer in third with a 69-76-73 for a total of 218. The trio, along with fourth-place finisher Jack Northgraves (Hutchinson – 222 total) and fifth-place finisher Rhys Nicholas (Dodge City – 223 total) earned first-team All-KJCCC honors as the top-five finishers at the tournament earned first-team All-KJCCC accolades.
Earning second-team All-KJCCC honors were Cory Scullion (Hutchinson), Luke Shelton (Dodge City), Louis Ross (Hutchinson), Joao Iglesias (Dodge City), Oliver Crowley (Garden City), and Makian Maydew (Garden City) as the six each finished in the top-10 of the tournament. In total, both Hutchinson and Garden City had four All-KJCCC individualists while Dodge City accounted for the remaining three All-KJCCC honorees.
All five NJCAA Division 1 men’s golf programs from the KJCCC (Hutchinson, Garden City, Dodge City, Barton, and Coffeyville) will tee it up once again this coming Monday, April 28 to begin the 2025 NJCAA Central District Championship which will be held at Tiffany Greens Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Iowa Western Community College as the five KJCCC schools will be joined by Indian Hills and Iowa Western from NJCAA Region 11, Crowder College from NJCAA Region 16, and John A. Logan College from NJCAA Region 24.
