MANHATTAN, Kan. – A week after winning their seventh-straight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Golf Championship, the Hutchinson Community College men’s golf team added the 2026 NJCAA Region 6 Men’s Golf Championship to their season wins after coasting to a 28-stroke victory at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas.

The Region 6 title is the third-straight for Hutchinson and 24th in program history, including the 12th under current head coach Chris Young. HCC opened the tournament with a nine-over 297, followed by a 12-over 303 to grab a 22-stroke lead after day one’s action. Individually, Blue Dragon Hugo Duquaine went wire-to-wire across the tournament to earn Region 6 medalist honors and become the second-straight Hutchinson men’s golfer to win the Region 6 individual championship. Duquaine opened the tournament with a two-under 70 before following with a three-over 73 to hold a four-shot lead heading into the final round. After seeing his lead disappear heading into the 16th hole, Duquaine finished with birdie-birdie-par on the closing three holes to shoot a one-over 73 and hold off Garden City’s Ilan Dufrenoy, who earned a runner-up finish with a 54-hole total of five-over 221.
