Neosho County Wins Fourth-Straight KJCCC Title, Enters NJCAA Region 6/9 Tournament As Top Seed
COLBY, Kan. – Unbeaten this season with a 13-0-3 overall record, the Neosho County Community College men’s soccer team has won the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 men’s soccer regular season title and earned the top overall seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 6/9 Division 2 men’s soccer tournament.
The Panthers won their fourth-straight KJCCC regular season title and finished NJCAA Region 6/9 play with an 8-0-2 record following a 2-2 tie against Allen Community College on September 6th and 2-2 tie at Johnson County on October 11th. In their other eight region matches, NCCC outscored their opponents 21-4, as Southeast Community College is the lone other opponent to be able to score multiple goals against Neosho this season.
Other teams qualifying for the 2025 NJCAA Region 6/9 Division 2 men’s soccer tournament include number two seed Johnson County Community College, as the Cavaliers went 11-4-4 in the regular season, with three of their four losses coming to teams currently ranked in the NJCAA D2 Men’s Soccer top 20. JCCC is currently ranked number 15 in the latest NJCAA D2 men’s soccer poll, finishing NJCAA Region 6/9 play with a 6-1-3 overall record after seeing four of their six wins in region play come by shutout. Number three seed Kansas City Kansas Community College will make their first appearance in the NJCAA Region 6/9 D2 Men’s Soccer tournament after previously competing at the NJCAA Division 1 level and enters the postseason with a record of 6-7-2. The Blue Devils went 4-4-2 in NJCAA Region 6/9 play and are joined by fourth-seeded Allen Community College, who earned their spot in the postseason with a 2-0 win over Pratt on Saturday afternoon.
The 2025 NJCAA Region 6/9 postseason tournament will begin on Thursday, October 30th, as the top four teams in the final regular season standings of NJCAA Region 6/9 will play a single-elimination tournament with all games being played at the higher seed. Opening round games will see number one seed Neosho County hosting four seed Allen at 6 PM, while the other semifinal matchup will feature number two seed Johnson County Community College playing host to three seed Kansas City Kansas Community College in Overland Park at 7 PM. The two winners will face off on Sunday, November 2nd, at the highest remaining seed, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Soccer Plains District Tournament title game against the winner of the NJCAA Region 11/13 tournament on Saturday, November 8th. This year, NJCAA Region 11 is scheduled to host the Plains District Title game, with opponent, location, and time to be determined following the NJCAA Region 11 D2 Men’s Soccer Title game on Sunday, November 2nd. Remaining teams in the Region 11 Tournament include top-seeded Iowa Lakes, second-seeded Southeastern Community College, third-seeded Central Community College (Nebraska), and fourth-seeded Northeast Community College (Nebraska).
