KJCCC Men's Soccer Teams Shuffled In Final NJCAA Rankings Of Regular Season
NJCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With teams still fighting for seeding in their respective upcoming postseason tournaments, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference is represented by five teams in the final NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 men’s soccer polls of the regular season.
The biggest change for KJCCC teams in the rankings comes courtesy of a battle between top 10 teams, Barton turned a 1-0 win over previously unbeaten Cowley College to move up four spots to fourth while taking over the top spot in the KJCCC D1 men’s soccer standings with one week of games remaining. Cowley’s loss drops the Tigers two spots down to fifth following the loss with three matches remaining in the regular season. Also ranked in the final Division 1 poll and falling one spot this week to number 12 after falling by a 3-2 score to Barton before bouncing back with a 4-2 win over Seward County. The Conquistadors wrap up their regular season on Wednesday in another ranked battle between KJCCC D1 teams when Cowley travels to Dodge City.
In the final NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Soccer poll, Neosho County moves up one spot to fourth following a 5-2 win over Southeast Community College and 3-0 win over Kansas City Kansas to wrap up a KJCCC D2 men’s soccer regular season title and top seed in the NJCAA Region 6/9 D2 men’s soccer postseason tournament. Also using a 2-0 week move up one spot in the polls, Johnson County is up to number 15 in the rankings, with the Cavaliers holding a 10-4-4 overall record with one match remaining in the regular season.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, there is still plenty at stake for KJCCC teams as only three teams have secured home playoff games in their upcoming postseason tournaments. In addition to Cowley traveling to Dodge City for a match with postseason seeding implications, Pratt will travel to Allen on Saturday, October 25th, in a match that could determine which team will make the NJCAA Region 6/9 Division 2 men’s soccer tournament. Full postseason fields and seedings will be released upon the conclusion of all regular-season games within the respective division.
