2017 KJCCC D1 Softball Players of the Week, Week1

Monique Ashley headed the Seward County rotation like a veteran this weekend in her first action with the Lady Saints.  She spun a pair of complete games, allowing just one run in 12 innings pitched.  Friday, she allowed just two hits while striking out seven in a run rule win over El Paso and backed that up with her first career shutout in a four hitter against McCook. 

Micaela Martinez, Garden City, went 2 for 3 on the day with a grand slam & a 2-run homerun against Trinidad College Saturday, Feb. 4^th.  A freshman from Lubbock, TX, Martinez provided a spark to the Lady Busters offense in game two.
