In the first two double headers of her collegiate career, freshman Aimee Wimp led Fort Scott with a team high .636 batting average, .692 on base percentage and 1.601 OPS over four games. She drove in a team high five runs, had two extra base hits, two walks and a stolen base. She also threw 11 innings on the mound, recording one win and 6 strikeouts.
Freshman left-handed pitcher D.J. Cannon had a memorable Blue Dragon debut in earning the victories in both ends of a doubleheader sweep of Garden City. Cannon started game one and tossed a complete game. She went five innings, striking out the side in the first and fanned five of the first seven batters she faced. Cannon entered game two with Hutchinson trailing 2-1 and the bases were loaded. She struck out two batters to get out of the inning and allow the Blue Dragons to rally in the bottom of the seventh for a walk off win.
