Brynn Minor powered the Butler attack as the Grizzlies won six games and improved to 20-0 on the season, running their winning streak to 58 straight dating back to last season. She drove in at least two runs in all six games, averaging more than three RBI per game for the week. She also hit four home runs and was 10-19 at the plate (.526). She also scored eight runs with a double, a walk and two stolen bases. It was her solo home run in the sixth inning that spurred Butler's come-from-behind win against Northeast Texas. In addition to her hitting, Minor also excelled as a relief pitcher. She threw nine innings, allowing just one earned run and earning two victories in four appearances.
Regan Mergele went 3-0 for Butler this weekend at the Region 14 Texas Crossover event. Starting the first game of each day, she threw 13 innings, allowing just one run while striking out 17 batters. She had a five-inning complete game against Tyler, giving up one run on four hits with five strikeouts. Then against Kilgore, she went three innings with just one hit allowed and four strikeouts. Against Navarro, she did not allow a hit in five innings, striking out eight batters. For the season, Mergele is 8-0 with 59 strikeouts in 43.1 innings and a 0.32 ERA.
