2017 KJCCC D1 Softball Players of the Week, Week 4

Brynn Minor continues to pound the ball this season, hitting her second grand slam of the season in Butler's 15-5 win at Dodge City on Wednesday. She drove in six runs in that game, going 3-3 at the plate with a sacrifice bunt. In the first game of the doubleheader, she was 1-2 at the plate, drawing two walks and scoring a run. She hit .800 for the week. 

Monique Ashley earned four wins this week, spinning 23 innings and allowing just 3 runs while striking out 39.  She picked up her first victory in relief on Monday, tossing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a come from behind Seward win over Northern Oklahoma-Enid.  Wednesday in the Lady Saints conference openers against Colby she struck out a career high 13 in a 2-1 Seward win.  She topped that mark one game later with 14 punchouts Saturday against Trinidad State and wrapped up the weekend by a complete game two hitter against Lamar.  She posted a 0.91 ERA and a 4-0 record overall on the week.
