Player of the Week:
Finding out just 20 minutes before the game that she would be in the starting lineup at second base, Hutchinson sophomore Isabel McCarty made the most of the chance with a huge doubleheader against the Allen Red Devils. McCarty was a combined 4 for 5 with three doubles, four RBIs and five runs scored in the Blue Dragons’ sweep of Allen. She was perfect in six defensive chances as well. McCarty went 2 for 3 with a double, three driven in and three runs scored in the opening game. She then had two doubles in two plate appearances with two RBIs and two runs scored in the second game.
Pitcher of the Week:
Hutchinson freshman starting pitcher Jordan Galliher set a pretty high bar for herself on Sunday by twirling a perfect game in her collegiate debut. Hutchinson completed a sweep of Allen on Sunday with a 9-0 victory. Galliher retired all 15 batters she faced. Galliher struck out seven, had four groundball outs and four flyball outs, only one left the infield). She needed only 58 pitches to complete the gem. She had no three-ball counts and went to a two-ball count only twice.
