Hutchinson Community College sophomore centerfielder Haley Miller had an impressive debut for the 2022 season going 6 for 6 in a doubleheader against the Ottawa University JV on Saturday. Miller had two triples and three bunt singles in her huge day at the plate. She scored five runs and drove in four for the twin-bill. In Game 2, Miller had a career-high four hits with three runs scored and three RBIs. Miller hit .401 as a freshman.

Freshman closer Riley Wertz tossed two shutout innings on opening day for the Hutchinson Community College in the Blue Dragons' sweep of the Ottawa University JV at Fun Valley. Wertz struck out the side in her Blue Dragon debut in Game 1 and pitched a 1-2-3 inning in Game 2 with one strikeout.
