Dodge City softball freshman, Melanie Castro continues her insane performance this season at the plate as she stretched her hitting streak to 10-straight games with nine of the 10 games being multi-hit games. In three games last week she went 7-10 with five RBI, six runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a home run, a walk, and a stolen bases.

Pitcher: Allyson Montgomery (Butler)

Allyson Montgomery, the 5-2 freshman right-handed pitcher from Goddard, KS, continued her dominant start to the season posting her sixth win of the season and her fifth shutout of the year. Montgomery claimed the win in game two over the Colby Trojans pitching four compete innings allowing just two hits. She walked one and struck out five in the 8-0 win. Montgomery has an ERA of 0.54 this season with 44 strikeouts in her 26.0 innings pitched.
