KJCCC Division 1 Softball Players of the Week - Week 12
COLBY, Kan. – A four home run week for Dodge City’s Karen Galaviz and a perfect game in the circle for Butler’s Addison Chapman have led to the duo both earning their first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Softball Player of the Week awards in 2026.
Karen Galaviz – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Player of the Week)
Dodge City put together a 3-1 week on the diamond in conference action, with a road sweep at Pratt before splitting with Hutchinson. Karen Galaviz helped lead the charge for the Conquistadors on the week, going seven-for-13 at the plate with six runs scored, two doubles, four home runs, seven RBI, and a walk. Galaviz led a 12-home run attack in the doubleheader at Pratt as she belted four home runs across the two games. In a home doubleheader three days later against Hutchinson, Galaviz notched a hit in both games with doubles in both matchups against the Blue Dragons.
Addison Chapman – Butler (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Butler pitcher Addison Chapman appeared in three games and started two in the circle for the Grizzlies, earning three wins. In Butler's 8-0 shutout victory over Colby, Chapman threw a perfect game while striking out four batters in the win. Over the course of the week, Chapman threw 12 innings and allowed just two hits and two earned runs, while recording 10 strikeouts.
