KJCCC Division 1 Softball Players of the Week - Week 4
COLBY, Kan. – Sweeping a road doubleheader over Northern Oklahoma College Enid, the Dodge City Community College softball team has swept this week’s Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Softball Player of the Week honors as Avery McCloskey and Karli George have both been named Week 4 award winners.
Avery McCloskey – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Player of the Week)
Dodge City earned a pair of wins on the road against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Avery McCloskey continued her strong start to her Conquistador career as she was impactful in several ways, including hitting .571 in the doubleheader. McCloskey went two-for-four in game one with a double, one run scored, a home run, a walk, and four RBI. The freshman followed in game two with a two-for-three showing at the plate in game two with two runs scored, a double, a home run, and two RBI. McCloskey also tossed all seven innings to earn a win in the circle in game two, recording six strikeouts.
Karli George – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Dodge City earned a doubleheader sweep of Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, with Karli George throwing a no-hitter in a convincing 16-3 Conquistador victory in game one. The freshman gave up three runs (two earned) on no hits, five walks, and a hit batter in six innings while striking four to earn her third win in the circle this season.
