KJCCC Division 1 Softball Players of the Week - Week 9
COLBY, Kan. – Hutchinson Community College shortstop Riley Dreher and Dodge City Community College pitcher Karli George have each earned their third Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Softball Player of the Week awards as both players have been named the Week nine players of the Week.
Riley Dreher - Hutchinson (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Player of the Week)
Hutchinson freshman shortstop Riley Dreher continued her torrid pace in extending her hitting streak to 12 games with four multi-hit games last week. Dreher was 13 for 15 (.867) in four wins over Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Pratt last week, recording four doubles and two triples. The Hays, Kansas native drove in 11 and scored 13 runs from the leadoff spot while recording a trio of three-hit games to go along with a four-hit performance. Through her 12-game hitting streak, Dreher is 30 for 47 (.638) and currently leads the KJCCC with a .546 batting average.
Karli George – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Dodge City put together a strong week, going 5-1 in action with three conference wins. Karli George played a huge role in a home doubleheader against Seward County, picking up two wins in the circle with relief appearances in each game. In game one against the Saints, George threw 3.2 innings of scoreless action, striking out six while allowing just two hits and a walk. George then went on to toss the final two innings in game two against Seward County without giving up a run, striking out four. For the week, George threw 13 innings across four outings, giving up just four runs on 11 hits while striking out 17.
